Query Language
The text search engine allows queries to be formed from arbitrary Boolean expressions containing the keywords AND, OR, and NOT, and grouped with parentheses. For example:
- Scottish eggs
- finds documents containing 'Scottish' or 'eggs'
- Scottish or eggs
- same as above
- Scottish and eggs
- finds documents containing both 'Scottish' and 'eggs'
- Scottish not eggs
- finds documents containing 'Scottish' but not 'eggs'
- (Scottish not eggs) and recipe
- finds documents containing 'recipe', plus 'Scottish' but not 'eggs'
- egg*
- finds documents containing words starting with 'egg'
